Track Changes
|

The Track Changes Feature allows you to:
-
View your previously saved and archived versions of a
document.
-
View all previously saved versions of a document made by another
user whom you have granted access using the Share Folder
button.
-
Compare any two document changes and show who made what
changes.
-
Easily revert to begin editing any previously saved version.
Two Ways to Access Track
Changes:

Open a document and
click the Track Changes button on the toolbar (shown above).
|

Click the Track
Changes icon ( ) for any document in the Documents pane.
|

The callout
numbers above refer to these descriptions:
|

Version Numbers. Each saved
document has a version number and an entry in this
list.
|
|

Who. Indicates who saved this
version, thus making the changes.
|
|

|
Comment. Comment
added in the Save As dialog for that version.
|
|

|
Action. Document is
saved or if the Archive box is checked in the Save As dialog, the
document is
permanenty retained, even if the system is set
to only save your most recent 20 versions.

|
View. Displays document in the
View Window (7).
Edit. Document is opened
as a new document in the iNetWord editor.
Revert. Replaces your newest
document version with your chosen version.

Document Change
Control. View changes between two versions by
selecting the two versions and clicking the "View Changes of
Selected" button (not shown).

Document
Changes. Deletions are shown highlighted in red,
additions are shown highlighted in green. Hovering over
changes displays who made the change, and when it was changed.

Document Name When
Saved. When the document is saved with a new name, a
new column appears in the Track Changes window to track the
filename for each version.
|

|
Share documents with someone by clicking the
Share Folder button in the Documents or the Pictures &
Backgrounds pane. Each user's saved version and the
record of changes are retained, even during a dynamic document
collaboration.
In the example shown above, the specifications
name, phone number, and Specifications date was changed.

note that hovering over a change provides:

Who inserted or deleted what.

When deletion happened.

The Comment saved with the associated
version.

Numbered change on the View Window.

Comment and Archive Fields

Comments
To add a comment to a version, click the "Save
As" button and type in the "Track Changes Comment" field as shown
above. Comment examples are shown in the Track
Changes window (see above).
Archive the Current Version
To permanently retain the current copy of a
document, click the "Save As" button, select the "Archive this
version; never delete" check-box, and save.
If a document is saved with a new name, the
Track Changes window will list the prior versions with the old
name. This enables you to recover prior versions even after a
rename or save to a different folder. The "Doc Name When
Saved" column in the Document Information window indicates
the progression of filenames. This column is
omitted if the file has not been renamed.
